We have been very pleased with the progress made on Macushla and have been able to pop in occasionally to see how things have been going.  Macushla has been cocooned in a tent of warm and filtered air to ensure optimum painting conditions and the topsides are looking fantastic.

Today it was the day for Alesha to come and laser the lines for the off-white boot stripe and new antifouling line.  It was great to see this process in action and the meticulous touches involved to get perfect lines.

It goes without saying that we feel very privileged, whilst Macushla is in her shed getting such TLC, to have secured house sitting duties across the bridge on the North Shore of Auckland, looking after two delightful cats – Jake and Finn.  So we’ve been enjoying landside living in a funky suburb with an arthouse cinema less than 5 minutes’ walk from the house; what a treat.  Suffice to say we’ve been enjoying something of a film fest.

Another weekend and another event at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland – this time the inaugural Vegan Food Fair which we were very keen to attend.  Although it was an overcast day the rain held off whilst we were there and we had an absolute ball sampling all manner of foods and coming away with lots of goodies and information.  Lunch was a particularly yummy Wise Boys Beetroot and Sunflower seed burger, way better than your normal veggie burger and our favourite purchase was a selection of aged cashew nut cheeses. Deelish!
