We left Grande Anse, Martinique at 08.30 a.m. for an overnight sail to Bequia, St Vincent & the Grenadines.  We were keen not to find ourselves caught in the wind shadow of the mountains of St Lucia and St Vincent, so decided to sail down the windward side of both islands.  We had an excellent sail with the added bonus of a bright and full moon and made such good progress that we arrived before daybreak, much to our surprise.  We drifted off the harbour entrance for an hour with a freshly brewed coffee until we had sufficient light to make our entrance.

We’re now enjoying Bequia – a lovely place to stop whilst we wait for the next tropical wave to pass.
