Favourable wind and tide was too much to resist and at our breakfast summit meeting the decision was made to continue south.  Making speed at times in excess of 10 knots over the ground, we enjoyed the treat of being able to sail for most of the way and we soon found ourselves at the Florida border.  As usual the day was a balancing act of ensuring we had enough water to get over the shoals, but not too much for passing under the fixed bridges!  We’re now  anchored in the Amelia River, a short distance south of Fernandina Beach.
