Having spent 10 wonderful, action-packed days in New York City, it was time to continue our journey south.  We’ve had a cultural feast including opera, cinema, art galleries, museums and monuments and have loved the vibrancy of this amazing place.  It was also great to catch up with old friends and to make new ones and we’ll have wonderful memories of our time here.  Photos to follow when we get time/internet…

Depth restrictions called for a High Water departure which, fortunately was just after first light and we sailed down the Hudson River on the ebb tide, being careful to avoid the rush hour commuter traffic and numerous other commercial vessels.

We are now anchored for the night in the Atlantic Highlands Municipal harbor, off Sandy Hook, hoping that the forecast NW winds arrive in the morning to help us on our way south.
