Well, we finally got here! It was a steady, but long beat and we broke the journey with an overnight stop in Simpson Bay, St Martin to ensure a daylight arrival in the Anse du Colombier. What a lovely spot. The bay is a marine park with free buoys provided to preserve the sea grass for the turtles which are here in abundance. We are really looking forward to going snorkelling.

It is an easy dinghy ride over to the capital, Gustavia, where we completed the check-in formalities. The town is very chic, very French, but with signs of the earlier Swedish influence evident in some of the street names and older buildings. Very smart, very clean and quite unlike any of the other Caribbean islands we've visited to date.
