We have been anchored in Carlisle Bay, off Bridgetown, for about ten days now and have caught up on much needed sleep following the crossing.  We have also been attending to boat maintenance jobs and have started to look around the town and the island.  What a stunning place. We love it here and the people are the friendliest folk we’ve come across so far.  Never before have we experienced such outstanding customer service and been offered so many lifts from complete strangers.

The dinghy ride in to the town is straightforward and we leave the dinghy in the inner basin, by the lifting bridge.  Priscilla, at one of the local produce markets, has made us her personal project and is educating us on the local fruit and vegetables, telling us how to prepare/cook them.  So far these have included: bread fruit, cristophene, plantain and five fingers.
