We had a great time anchored in Grande Anse and stretched our legs by hiking over to Petite Anse.  We enjoyed being amongst French cruisers and were fortunate enough to be anchored next to a boat called ‘Bastringue’ whose skipper is the son of a baker who supplemented his cruising kitty by selling the most delicious bread – hazelnut bagels and thyme & mushroom focaccia to name but two – which his wife sold around the anchorage.  Such a treat!

With a favourable weather window on the cards, it was soon time to say a reluctant good-bye to Martinique which has been one of our favourite Caribbean islands to date.  Martinique is locally named Madinina – The Isle of Flowers and during our short stay it was not hard to see why.
