All OK after Hurricane Sandy
We are delighted to see the barometer rising after Hurricane
Sandy made landfall last night well to the north of us. In our protected
spot we had winds gusting up to 40 knots, but fortunately had flat seas and
very little tidal surge. After 72 hours of non-stop rain, it was good to
be able to venture out on deck without waterproofs on. We have now
retrieved our secondary anchor and chain and have been working our deck wash
overtime to clean off all the thick brown mud, before re-stowing it deep in the
bilge. We hope not to have a need for it again anytime soon! We are gradually getting Macushla back in to sailing mode and
hope to be on our way again soon. Snap shot of one of the weather files we downloaded as we
anxiously awaited the approaching storm: |
