Time to say good-bye to Tahiti after a few weeks in the town marina at Papeete.  We really enjoyed the town with its wonderful market and facilities, including the funky vegan café ‘J’âme’, and were delighted to have been there to see the Heiva festival.  Very special indeed.  Whilst there we took the opportunity to have our water maker serviced.  With its gazillion seals it’s a complex bit of kit and we’re really pleased to have had all the seals replaced, as well as some other worn parts.

Having completed the formalities and armed with our Inter Island Clearance permit, we set off for the short sail of 15 nm under headsail only.  Now anchored in Opunohu Bay, Moorea.  A gloriously tranquil spot with lush green mountains all around.  It’s the flattest water we’ve been in for a long, long time and it feels good to be back at anchor.
