15:51.73N 61:36.07W We left our peaceful little anchorage off the west coast of Guadeloupe around 8 o’clock in the morning with full sails up and drifted along at a very leisurely pace, expecting a gentle sail to windward down to les Saintes. However, we soon had brisk winds and had a rip roaring sail along with sv Hanna (with friends Jan and Doug aboard) and another French boat. We decided not to reef the mainsail but wisely chose not to hoist the stay sail and Macushla stormed along in her element. We arrived in the Anse à Cointe off Terre de Haut by lunchtime and recognised several boats we knew anchored there, including Olgalou.
