It was a short hop along the coast in light headwinds. We discovered that a circular rainbow or halo around the sun is not a pretty sight... This signalled moisture in the air and it was not long before we spotted a mean-looking squall six miles ahead of us, which we tracked with interest on the radar, and had us hurrying to reduce sail. Fortunately it passed well to the north of us with minimal effect.
We anchored off the channel entrance to Marina Puertosol where we completed the formalities of clearing out of Cuba. We've very much enjoyed our cruising in Cuba, but the season is moving on and it's time to continue east.
What is known as the halo effect!
