We very soon settled in at St Augustine, the oldest continually inhabited town in the USA, with its vibrant music scene and rich history.  This, combined with the wonderful company of cruising friends, made it an ideal place to spend Christmas and New Year.  The town puts on a fabulous display during the festive season (The Nights of Lights), with every tree and building beautifully adorned with tiny white lights.

The town ticked all the boxes for us: two great Farmers’ Markets, a quirky, little independent cinema and the best vegan restaurant we’ve come across since we’ve been travelling – The Present Moment Café.  It proved to be an easy place to linger…
