We stayed at Beaufort for two nights, but could so easily have stayed longer.  A delightful place full of southern charm and we happened to be anchored just off downtown Beaufort on a night when the town was having its Christmas party/open house celebrations and the place was absolutely buzzing.  We met local residents Larry and Sue (sv Serengeti) who were the most charming hosts, showing us round the neighbouring area and running us around to the local grocery store and propane filling centre.  It was great to spend the evening with such like-minded folks and we very much hope to meet up with them again in the future.
