Another first light departure as we left Solomons Island on the last of the ebb to try and catch the full flood up the Potomac River.  We had light SE winds and, once in the river, had the  ideal conditions to give our spinnaker an airing.  With this lovely big sail we were able to make good progress up the river and are now anchored in Breton Bay.  We’re beginning to appreciate just how far up the river it is to Washington DC, especially in light airs.
