All is well on board and the conditions have moderated, giving us an easier ride for the moment. Macushla is proving herself to be an offshore thoroughbred excelling in these conditions and we are delighted with her performance.
Having eaten all of our pre-prepared meals we're now in to the culinary gymnastics of cooking underway. It's fortunate that Macushla has a U shaped galley which gives us a snug space in which to wedge ourselves whilst preparing food.
We're so pleased that our fresh fruit and vegetables are still in really good condition and that we don't need to resort to our tinned and dry goods just yet. This is undoubtedly down to the market stall holders at Las Palmas selecting suitable fresh/unripe produce for us. They were completely un-phased by our request for progressively ripening fruit as they have been supplying the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) participants for a number of years.
When conditions are moderate we have something of a cook-a-thon and re-stock the fridge with pre-prepared meals in readiness for any more demanding conditions.
We're expecting the wind to lighten on Saturday, so may well deploy the fishing line for the first time this trip.
