I think I may have overdosed on coke light. Most Turkish place names have a variety of spellings so don't need my help in the search for confusing anagrams. Having walked around town this seems the preferred spelling - Akcakoca. Whilst on the subject of soft drinks it is impossible to find tonic water now I am outside the tourist areas. This is a major problem for the smooth running of the ship. I am now developing a taste for gin and and fanta. The first few are pretty awful but as with most drinks after a while .........The question is should it have a lemon, lime or cucumber slice in it?

This town houses the Turkish missile station.

They are slowly camouflaging it by growing trees to hide it from the sea. From the other side it looks like an interesting piece of architecture.

The town is mostly modern with a few poor quality older buildings......

........which have a certain charm. There are lots of small shops and I found one selling Turkish flags so bought an even bigger one to use as a courtesy flag or maybe a double duvet cover. The Turks love their flag and really appreciate me flying a large courtesy flag. This one is about two metres on its longest side and cost £6 so it is not costly. If you fly a badly faded or torn Turkish flag the Coastguard will come and tell you off.

The local ambulance service has some unusual gear......

....which rather disappointingly did not have a blue light. On the back there are fittings for a stretcher at 90 degrees to the direction of travel. The mind boggles at the state you would be in after a trip on that. Still it would certainly be a fast way of getting to the crematorium.

The water front had some pleasant placed to eat and drink in the shade.
