I have been joined by a friend for a few days whilst we visit the sites in Istanbul. We stayed in West Istanbul Marina initially to see if the public transport would work. The journey was very complicated. A taxi to town which took 10 minutes and cost £5. Catch a Metrobus which took about an hour and cost £1. Then catch a tram which cost the same and took twenty minutes. On the bus and tram they were packed and we had to stand all the way. We have now moved to Atakoy Marina which is much closer to town but correspondingly more expensive.
We saw some wonderful sites. The Blue Mosque.
And from the inside.
Then we went onto the Topkapi Palace. This is huge and is a long visit.
