We were quite sorry to leave our friendly pirates.
Before setting off we went to the fuel pontoon having calculated that
there was enough water to float our boat. However, we were waved away by chap
just as my depth sounder alarm went off. The chart of the marina is not
accurate. We waited a couple of hours and then went and filled up with diesel
leaving the harbour at 1700.
Since then we have sailed all the time in winds
which started north but have veered to N/E enabling us to sail well out. At 0130
portugese time we are at 42 08.89N 10.03.88W on a course of 334 doing only
3.0kts SOG as the wind has dropped.
A young sea gull visited us and took a ride on the
stern rail for half an hour. It took off and then tried to land again but had
trouble in 20kts of wind. I have some photos which I will post when I get a wifi
connection.
