Some years ago this town was badly affected by a tsunami. Since then they have built considerable sea defences. Using these as a base they have created this Marina or small vessel port. It seems to be a Kooperatif (their spelling) and there is no provision for visitors.
This is what it looks like on the chart plotter.
Minka can be seen in the right hand bay anchored right in the middle. The left hand bay is the Marina. There is room to anchor but I think that might have been pushing my luck.
As you can see there is a nice beach to go ashore.
This is the Marina bay. There is definitely space to to anchor. I may try that if I come back.
The town is delightful. It used to be called Stefanos as apparently the saint's bones were sheltered in a church here on their way to Rome.
This is the church dedicated to St Stefanos.
The interior. There are still some original wooden houses in the town.
Some in quite good order and some ......
.... In need of some love. Surprisingly there is another RC church.
Finally, there are loads of restaurants.
