Minka and I have spent a couple of days in Gocek looking at possible places for Minka to have her winter holidays. There is a very nice marina to starboard as you go into Gocek Bay. It is now owned by a big company called D-Marin. The office

The golf cart is to give you a lift into town which is only about 500mts.

The grounds

And finally the price……………………52 euros per night on daily rate. Four months is 3,041 euros or a year for 5,562. So that is the top end of the market. We spent one night there and got the best value we could by giving Minka a good hose down and I went in the shower for an hour and washed a few shirts. We then moved on to

Skopea Mega Yacht Marina. On the face of it you would expect this to be the height of luxury. It is closer to town but far to exposed to southerlies to leave a boat unattended all winter. There were only 4 yachts in there when I arrived with about 100 berths available. I didn’t even bother to take any photos of the berths. The toilets/showers were ok but in a wooden hut. This one was 32 euros per night but I didn’t bother to ask about longer term.

So I will have a look at few other places next but I am quite tempted by the first one.
