Went to clear in St John's. Initially Immigration not
there, turned up at 1100. Port control not there had to be called in. 1130
started process then Customs asked where boat was I said Jolly Harbour so
process stopped at 1145. Got bus back and texted John to ready boat we had a 8nm
dash to get back by 1400. Bus not full so delayed getting away. Then heavens
opened up as got nearer Jolly Harbour. Got to boat at 1215. Requested help from
Dockmaster to leave but would only come out when stopped raining, we did it
ourselves. Motored at nearly 3000 revs, I normally only motor at 2000-2200. Flat
sea helped, although we were soaked from the rain. Made it to the dock at 1345
and cleared.
Went into town to spend last few dollars have on
biscuits and chocolate, not as good a choice at supermarket at the marina, never
mind.
Now I am sorting myself out and bits of boat not done,
will hopefully get on our way by 1530.
Honestly, the next update will be from the
ocean.
