Well we have now come full circle, or full semi-circle in our case, and are back at Burnett Heads, just down the road from Bundaberg.  Stayed a couple of days.  Not much has changed.  There were big floods here last summer, after we left, and nothing remains of the town marina.  Bundaberg marina still stands.  Originally the marina manager told us that there was no damage.  We then pointed out that a fishing boat’s nets seemed to be caught at the river entrance (see below) at which point he admitted some damage and loss of boats ….. but as long as you stick to the main channel all clear.

 

Here’s the beam trawler, looks like nets are caught.  Why would you anchor with your nets in the water?
