Noon to Noon report on the 20th March 12

We have motored right up to 06.00 this morning as we still had no wind. We are motoring heading South West to try to pick up the wind.

Time 06.00, the wind has started to pick up although it is only 5 to 8 knot and we are sailing at last but only at 2 to 4 knots!!!

The Grib weather charts are still showing reasonable wind at about 005 degrees South, so we will try to sail as long as possible to try to get into stronger winds.

Wildlife report

No real wildlife has been seen over the last 24 hours other than seabirds. We did get one land on the upturned rib on the back deck, but he or she did not stay long.

Karacool has set off with us, and is at present about 50 miles behind us as they tried to visit without success Post Office Bay, to leave a letter on the post pole which is a tradition started by the whalers.

The other two will be leaving on Tuesday.

Next report on the 21st.
