Took in Arrowtown today on our way to Wanaka.  Nice sleepy old town.  Did the river bank walk – not very pretty but stretched our legs.  X marks the spot (well almost the spot or near this spot), where Maori Jack found gold in 1862 which led to the Great Wakatipu Gold Rush that drew loads of miners to the area and lain the foundations for the town.

Paul mooching through town.  Provisions advertisement. A wealthy little town, Sotheby’s land auction.  Is that really Sotheby’s?

Lovely old post office.

The high street.
