Next we passed a bit of forest where Johnny Depp came rolling down the hill in that big wheel thing – in Pirates of the Caribbean II – as the guide kept telling us.

We then went through a disaster area. Apparently a landslide had created a reservoir up in the mountains about 20 years ago. It burst and swept away all in its path. The road, well track, has just reopened after a couple of months. Sand everywhere, must have been 4 to 5 m deep in places. On the plus side they are now exporting different grade sand to all the Caribbean islands as building material (I assume).

Last stop was little village by the sea where we had a cup of coffee and got bitten by mosquito’s.
