Arrived at Rangiroa 1100 on 5th May after overnight
passage from Ahe. Had 5 knots against us entering the pass. Whilst
waiting outside pas having a general discussion with Karacool on the best time
to enter interrupted by call from Camelot, our Norwegian friends were still here
which was a lovely surprise.
Entry to the pass of Rangiroa.
After anchoring we went to lunch at small
restaurant overlooking the pass that Camelot had told us about. Panini,
Panini or sandwich.
Annie and I fish spotting:
Karacool were joined by an old friends of Stephen –
Keith. Went on a boat trip to Blue Lagoon, within Rangiroa.
Absolutely beautiful. Went snorkelling but sand is so fine that not settling so
water was a bit murky. In the shallows near small atoll we stopped on saw baby
reef sharks, sea cucumbers and clams with the most beautiful blue, green,
turquoise mantles. On the way out through pass to lagoon, boats fed the sharks.
Some nutters went in to snorkel, we didn’t!!
Baby reef shark.
Karacool, Camelot and Marita 3 picnicking at Blue lagoon. Island inside blue lagoon.
Oscar catching fish to put in his fish pond.
