Passage To Hiva Oa in the Marquesas Islands Day 16

We left Puerto Ayora Galapagos Island heading for Hiva Oa in the Marquesas Islands at 08.00 am local time UTC (GMT) - 6 hours on Sunday the 18 Mach 2012.

We have managed to sail a full 24 hours, and the wind has been more consistent over the last 24 hours, however we have had lots of line squalls go through over the last 12 hours. We have had lots of rain, preceded by the wind increasing by about 10 to 15 knots to 35 to 35 knots, and with a direction change of about 50 to 60 degrees. We are now travelling at 5 to 6 knots.

The sea state is now moderate to rough with a swell running of about 3.00 m.

Still only a few flying fish and sea birds, but not much else.

I have had another day off fishing, due to the weather, so STILL No fish yet!!!
