Left Kakadu and en route to Litchfield National Park we passed the famous Adelaide River Jumping Crocodiles and so went for a boat trip.  According to the blurb ‘ yes the original jumping crocodile tour’ and ‘our (!) crocodiles are wild in the natural environment’.  Here’s Paul agog with excitement.

And me

Here’s one of the stars of the show jumping for some sawn up pig’s head.  No wonder they say beware of crocodiles and don’t hang over the edge of the water.

A sniff

A jump

Missed, that’s its tail you can see as it comes around for another go.

Another jump.  See how the front legs are flat against the body.

This is a female lying in the mud.  You can see the way teeth overlap the jaw on the outside of the mouth.  The green is from algae growth.

This is the male, you can really see his girth in this shot.

In his entirety.

Look at those teeth.

Also did a bit of kite feeding

This grass lined the banks and the females make their nests from it or on it.
