A gloomy day but still warm.  In fact a bit chilly for us at 23C.  We did the Cardwell Forest Drive, all off road so Paul in his element and me doing a lot of yelling.  Because of the gloom we didn’t get a view at the lookout but did walk through the woodlands to waterfalls.  It’s back to grass trees, not seen them in a while, here’s one in flower

This is Attie Creek.  The water drops 25m into a deep swimming pool.

Some of the trees are in flower – this is a bottle brush but who knows which one.

Back into the car and across a dry stony creek – makes a change from sand.

The Spa Pool, supposedly the last picnic spot on the drive.  Someone obviously took a liking to the picnic tables and BBQs, or maybe they got washed away.  The view upstream

A natural depression in the creek bed.  Very milky water.  Beautiful paper bark tree at the edge of the creek.
