The other reason we came to Gemtree was because they did garnet and zircon fossicking tours.  $75 for two people.  The campsite owners had brought a claim about 30km away and that’s where we went.  Unfortunately we had garnet fever so I only managed to take one photo.

Believe me it was seriously hard work.  Anyway of the many garnets we sourced only a few of them were of good enough quality to be made into jewellery.

This is a Willie wagtail who seemed to own the campsite.  Very bossy.
