I meet a kiwi and view across Queenstown Bay to the botanical gardens.

Walked around Queenstown Boanical gardens which occupy a small arm that juts out into the lake. Paul contemplating and the local bowls green.  Location, location, location..

The Earnslaw Steamer, named after the hghest mountain in the area.  Built in a shipyard, disembled, moved piece by piec to the lake and then reassembled.  Used for public and animal transport until the railway was built.  Now a visitor attraction.

Decided to drive up to Glenorchy in the afternoon as the weather was so nice.  Described as stunning but we couldn’t figure out why?  Some great views of, guess what, along the way. Our new old little van at one of the lokouts on the way to Glenorchy. Going to have to give her name.

LHS Thomson mountains on the left. RHS Three islands here, three island is the small one to the left, Pig Island is in front of Pigeon Island to the right.

The west and east peaks of Mount Earnslaw in the background, Turret Head in the left foreground. RHS Big George in the foregrund.

Big Rhu in the foreground.

Reached Glenorchy and nothing there.  Drove on a bit further as Paul wanted to visit a place called Paradise.  Unfortunately we hit that dirt road unsuitable for campervans and I wouldn’t let him go any furthert.  More mountains looking back up the lake from the road to Paradise.  Paul says he is there everytime he wakes up in the morning and sees me.  Or was it, he wanted to send me there everytime he wakes up in the morning?

And another river crossing.
