Monday 2nd July
Hired beach buggies in the afternoon to do a small island tour. We
originally hired 5,which was reduced to 4 when one wouldn’t start. Annie
and I shared, Annie driving first. Our buggie pulled to the right so you
constantly had to fight the wheel to bring back to the left. You would not
believe some of the ruts that Annie had to negotiate –well done Annie. I
just had pot holes and then drove like I used to the minibuses –just keep moving
and try to dodge as many holes as possible. Those you don’t, go straight
over. I didn’t burn out the clutch, have a puncture or trash a front
wheel, so my driving must have improved.
Waiting for buggie to be fixed.
About 30 mins later Keith’s buggie lost it’s chain and Stephen’s developed
a flat battery. Annie and I waiting in the heat of the Sun for repairs to
be done.
View from the north part of Vava’u. Coral heads and beach to the bottom of
the picture.
Something is over there or even there...
Taro on the LHS.
A sample of the terrain we negotiated. This was nothing compared to
some of the angles we were at.
