Position 12 40.45 S 132 28.75E Staying at Aurora Kakadu – not a lot here and not a lot of people either. Paul is buying ice creams though and the air conditioning is going well. Spotted another bird on arrival. This is the straw necked ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis). Really long curved down bill. The feathers on the back are black with a superb iridescent green and violet sheen. When travelling these guys form a V formation. Having a real dig around for worms (I assume). Paul playing with his I pad. What do I want? Get those mosquito coils burning. |
