The grounds backed onto a river from which all the water was
pumped for watering the garden. It was also pumped up to this small lake, during
bush fires firemen will come and take the water out of this.
This as a beautiful tree outside the front of the house. All
the branches had been pecked off by cockatoos, which made horrendous noise in
the morning and evening. We got used to the noise after a couple of days
though.
View towards the back of the property, in terms of distance
from the road. The house in the middle of the picture is where someone used to
live. A nice two roomed property.
The Ute with trailer and water container all ready for a bush
fire.
Shearing shed.
Sheep collection pens
Lots of barns and things about the place. This one has
solar panels on the roof.
Nice picture but you can see how long and dry the grass is.
Over the last three years they’ve had a lot of rain in summer which has meant
that grass has grown long. As I write this, there are heat waves in Victoria,
New South Wales and Queensland and certain regions in these states are on
catastrophic fire alerts – that means you have to have your escape plan all
ready and be able to go at a moments notice.
The wine cellar and wine.
Rainwater butts, the river is to the left. The wind pump,
although going around, didn’t work. Been replaced by an electrical
one.
