Sydney - Bondi Beach
Took the train and then bus to Bondi Beach. It’s tiny! Just to prove we have been here… Yes that water is cold. Life savers.. Paul wanted to take this picture of a little sand cliff. Bondi from the North. This rock was washed up during a storm in July 1912. It weighs 235 tons! Lots of little statues cemented into the rock. This one commemorated Black Sunday, February 6th 1938 when 250 people were rescued from the sea. Three rogue waves swamped the shore washing people out to sea. Bondi Beach from the South. The swimming pool at the south side of Bondi Beach. Lots of surf schools in the area and lots of would-be-surfers were on the water. We walked around Bondi and into Tamarama and Bronte Beaches. More statues set in the cliff. Paul and some impressive sandstone cliffs. View of Tamarama Bay around to Bronte Bay. Paul looking at Tamarama Bay and view back towards Bondi Beach. |
