Road trip to Mount Isa - Avon

Free camped at Avon – opposite the last police station in Northern Territories.  Here’s some photos of the scenery.  Red dirt, spinifex and a few trees as far as the eye can see.

We arrived at 3pm by 4:30pm it was chocka.  Parked van (getting photo crazy here).

Empty cattle truck parked at the police station.  There are strict regulation here about transportation of animals and fruit and veg.  Presumably the driver had some sort of document that said his rig was ‘clean’ of mites and noxious weeds.

Or rather cattle train.  These trains can be up to about 53m long.  That’s longer than our boat, but Annie it’s the same size as Karacool.
