Here’s a couple of views of the Akaroa inlet– light not great

This plan was in the museum, you get a feel for the ruggedness of the place.

This is lighthouse in Akaroa.  Open Sundays between 3 and 5.  Moved from its original sight.  Cost $1 to buy.  A team of 15 enthusiasts broke it all apart and had lots of help from others. 

When it came to move the mechanism, they had to hire a crane driver.  They all donated $50 (in 1980 (I think)) and it was moved to present location.

You could walk around the top of the lighthouse.
