Passage to Bundaberg, Australia

Day 6 Date 15 October 2012

We left Port Moselle New Caledonia at 8.30 local time on Wednesday the 10 October 2012.
We are heading for our next island which is quite a big island !!!, called Australia. Total distance is about 800 miles.

Day 6

Log reading at noon is 19865

Noon to Noon distance = 145 miles

Distance to go 120 miles.

The wind over the last 24 hours has settled down to a general direction from the ESE, which means we are no broad reach. This is giving us fast and steady sailing.

With the wind direction now steady, the sea has also calmed down.

We hope to arrive at Bundaberg around Noon to 14.00 tomorrow the 16th October 2012. Once Customs etc., has cleared us into Australia we hope to get a berth in the marina for a few weeks rest.

Wildlife
Just a few birds today

Ship
Two ships seen on the AIS in the last 24 hours, both cargo vessels.

Also one very large 80 to 90 feet sailing vessel came within two miles of us, early this morning.

Next Noon report on the 16 October 2012
