Decided to do a bit of the Waterfall Way which goes from the coast near Coffs Harbour, inland to Armidale.  The coastal section has several waterfalls that cross the road.  Well go underneath the road but when it really rains (what it been doing so far!) the water goes across the road.  This is Newell Falls.

Dangar Falls.  This is one of the waterfalls in the Dorrigo National Park.

The cliff face beside the falls shows irregular shaped ‘organ pipe’, type lava.  It’s all curved here though instead of being straight.  What’s happened is that as the lava has cooled it has continued to move, a process known as entablature, which prevents the lava from forming those nice regular vertical hexagonal columns that you can see in other places and pictures.  You can just see a swimmer bottom RH corner.

Dorrigo National Park.  This park has what they call a skywalk, basically a viewpoint that goes through the trees and overlooks valley.  I guess the idea is to view the wildlife, but the wildlife has gone wise to this and was nowhere in sight.  Paul managing to quench his fear of heights.

View from and underneath Skywalk.  Note that dark sky.

Not sure if this is a dead tree with bits of fern growing on it or a tree coming into life.  Anyway looks pretty, you can also see nice lichen.

Top view of a tree fern, nice because you obviously don’t usually get this viewpoint.

Whilst here it absolutely jacked it down – again.  Although used to the rain in the UK, you would not believe how much can come down at once.  Anyway, we had a coffee whilst we waited for the rain to abate.  This is water pouring down the glass side of the café, looks just like a waterfall.
