Sailed to anchorage No 7 –(Port Maurelle) for a couple of days, before we
had to return to Neiafu for Keith’s leaving party on Thursday. This part
of Tonga is a Moorings sailing base and they have produced an anchorage map –
hence no 7 anchorage.
View going out from Neiafu harbour.
Seabirds feeding on shoal of small fish, presumably being hunted from
below.
Keith does moon... the reason being to show off is untanned parts – or so
he said.
and we never took any photographs of the anchorage – but it was
lovely. We had a BBQ on the beach – again pre-cooked marinated chicken
thighs, potato salad, tomatoes and yes cold peas – Stephen’s favourite.
Fish love chicken bones we have discovered. When we left at about 7
pm the air was full of flying insects, but once a couple of yards from the shore
most had disappeared. At night really big bats take to the air – true
batman bats. Also went snorkelling and saw lots of fish plus brilliant
blue starfish. |
