We stayed in the Takarakka Bush Resort, within the national
park. It’s 40 km off the main highway on unpaved roads. This
was their off season, we understood why later, the heat was
incredible.
Had to ford a stream – well dribble - to get
there.
A lot of water must come through here at times, some nicely
rounded stones in this lot.
We stayed in a self contained cottage. We had our own little
picnic table, behind the screen. We tried siting out during early evening
but got bitten alive.
You can just make out that the tree outside the door was in
flower. We had loads of birds come to feed. These look like budgerigars –
gotta get that bird book – chewing their way through the flowers.
One evening sitting on sofa and noticed big black spider, and
I mean big, crawl up from behind the bed, ugh. Paul zapped it for me. You
can also rent a tent here, this is back view. They unzip at the front and have
their own veranda that you can sit out on.
This is the general BBQ and eating area. God knows what
happens when the site is full. Presumably you have shifts like some tacky UK
restaurant!
