Passage to Port Moselle, New Caledonia

Day 1, Start Day 3 September 2012 & Day 2, the 4 September 2012

We left Fiji at 13.30 local time on Monday the 3 September 2012, after clearing out with the Customs office in Lautoka, Fiji. We are heading for our next island called New Caledonia for the Port Moselle.

Day 1

Log reading at 13.30 is 18360

We left Fiji through one of the reef passes at 17.55 with a distance to go to the Southern Point of New Caledonia of 629 miles.

Light winds at present which are between 8 to 11 knots, and are making between 4 to 4.5 knots in the right direction.

Day 2

Our first night at sea has been very relaxing with steady winds and a boat speed of between 4 to 6 knots.
The wind / weather forecast is for the wind speed to increase over the next few days, so our passage speed should increase.

I will start the normal noon to noon reports on the 5th.
