Sailed with Stephen and Annie on board Karacool to Amedee Island.
Also on board were a French couple – Charles and Aurora – who hope to buy a
Lupin 16 (like Karacool) in a few years time. The island has a large
lighthouse on it, designed by the Eifel Tower man. It used to guide ships
in via the Boulari Pass. The island has a couple of lovely beaches on one
side. A pleasure boat, the Mary D, comes out from Noumea, and both beaches
are reserved for their patrons! We walked around the island, it didn’t
take long. As we were just about to get on the wharf to go back to dingy a
coral snake slide out from beneath it.
Ship wrecked on the reef on the approach to Amedee island.
Amedee Island in the distance.
Only 18,000 odd kilometres to Paris.
The light house
The snake crawling along the wharf.
And then off... and away.
A really pretty coral.
