This is Beachport and its claim to fame – other than a very salty pool – is that it has one of South Australia’s longest jetties.  Built in 1882, it was 1220 m long but was never built that well.  The original builders were sacked half way through the project.  Some 400 m odd, has been washed away and its now 772 m long.

A lot of crayfishing goes on in the area and these are the trolleys that used to go to the end of the pier to collect the boxes of crayfish.

The waves reflected off the sea front created a real splash.  You can just make out Paul walking along the front, taking a picture of the pier sign and walking back again, in this sequence.
