16/9/11 Porto Santo to Quinta do Lordes, Madeira

We sailed (well motored) across to Madeira - Quinta do Lordes on Friday.  An unfinished – totally unfinished – holiday village.  Great model of the resort in the marina but all a shell at the moment.  Roofs are on but no windows, doors or paint.  But it has a bar.  Half a steep volcanic cinder cone marks the landward side off the marina.  Obviously still collapsing as one of the buildings has a load of smashed glass and cinders around it.  In fact if you look up you can see a gulley and a huge loose rock- anyway it’s not goanna fall my way – unless it bounces off the building, breaks in two and projected onto the boat – stranger things have happened.
