We met a guy in … somewhere .. who said to come to this place.  A pub in the middle of nowhere.

The fuel is also cheaper than on the main highway.

The number of caravans was incredible.  Nobody unhitched and only one caravan managed to get part of its awning up.

This is a ‘real’ outback pub.  Built in 1930 – most of this area wasn’t settled until the 1960s, it was so remote.  There were six of these tin sheds – the toilet and shower.  You had to knock on the door and really sing out if you were in the cubical as there were no locks to the doors.

An eclectic collection of memorabilia in the inside of the pub…. underpants

They have live music from 4:30 pm.  The entertainment went on for 4.5 hours.  None of them are paid so a cup goes around near the end of each set.  This was the first guy, couldn’t hear a word of what he said.

This was the second – not as good

The last entertainer was a guy called Chilli, who we figure must be famous around the NT.  Really good – guess who bought the CDs so you can all listen to them when we get back.  The place was crowded.

The other reason to come here is for the steak and barramundi (barra and beef) which are grilled on the BBQ.  Place is so popular we were on the 3rd sitting at 7:30pm.  BBQ to the LHS of me.

Guys doing the BBQ – they get through 15,000 barras and beef a year!

The ladies – it really is a tin shack.
