Stopped first thing in the morning for a quick walk to French Pass.  You can just make out the line of white water in the distance.

 

 

So called because navigated by a French man!  Bet that was difficult to figure out.  Anyway the tide really rips through here, up to 7 knots with a height difference of 0.5m at either end of the narrow. Looked at Pauls electronic chart and the depth decreases from 105m to 3-4 m on the flats in the middle.  Well not quite in the middle because there are three passages.  One at either end (Fisherman’s and Main Channel) and one somewhere in the middle (Middle Passage).  The only one I’d want to attempt is the one closest to us.  The water looks like it is flowing downhill.
