Oberon - Bathurst

Bathurst is medium sized rural town (well city) about 45km further inland from Oberon.  Evans stopped here on his way west in 1813, so the plaque says.  It had lots of Georgian style and Victorian houses.  It was, so they say, the only inland town that Darwin went to and they have the plaque to prove it….

Bathurst is also home to the oldest street based racing circuit in Australia – called the Panorama Motor Racing Circuit – for obvious reasons as you will see below.  The circuit is 6.213 km long and the only active circuit that is open to the public.  Here’s Paul in the number 1 position.. and near the S bends at the top of the hill track.
