Fantastic views of the floodplains that stretch across Kakadu’s lowlands.  This view is the best so far.  All this had been built up from the sand and silt eroding from rocks and being carried by wet season waters.  The rocks we are standing on were created 1700 million years ago as part of the Kombolgie Sandstone formation.

You can just about make out some termite mounds in the bottom part of the picture.

At the bottom again noticed that pandamus trees grow in a spiral pattern.

Someone must have doed resently because we noticed red stain on a lot of trees near the rainbow serpent. A sign of death.
