11 November 2011, second day on passage to the Cape Verde Islands.

Noon report total distance travelled in the last 24 hours is 142 miles, that leaves approximately 656 miles to go. (Trip 160 miles from setting off at 9.00 am on the 10th)

24 hour sailing report

As there was very little wind through the night we motor sailed between 5 and 5.5 knots.
No excitement during the various watches through the night, as we had almost a full moon to light the way.

At 08.00 UTC we put up the bag of fear, i.e. the Parasailor (the spinnaker which has a wing to keep it very stable.). The wind is variable from 7 to 11 knots, but we are getting a boat speed from 3.5 to 5.5 knots with the Parasailor.

Our plan will be to keep it up as long as possible during day time hours, and then change to the cruising shoot at night, as this will be easier to take in should the wind change in any way.

Next report Noon on the 12 November 2011
